IN THE FORMATION OF SAPE

Sep 2010

A tiny seed was sowed: The formation of a new industry association was initiated with the hope of empowering and encouraging growth in the private education industry, following a meeting with the Council for Private Education (CPE).

Oct 2010

Work began without delay:A Pro-tem Committee for the new association was appointed.

Jan 2011

The Constitution for the new Association was proposed and agreed upon by all founding members of the Association.

Mar 2011

The pro-tem committee consulted with the Council for Private Education (CPE) to establish the direction for the Association. CPE also pledged their support to SAPE.

Jun 2011

An official 10-member Management Committee was appointed.

Sep 2011

The pro-tem committee met up with MOE Senior Minister of State Mr. Lawrence Wong to refine the Association’s direction and objectives.

Oct 2011

The founding members of the Association gathered to discuss the official name of the Association as well as to approve and agree on the Association’s Constitution.

Jan 2012

The Council for Private Education (CPE) issued the Association a Letter of Support for the adoption of its new name – Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE).

Feb 2012

 The Association filed an application with the Registrar of Society (ROS) to register its official name – Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE).
The Industry Development Division at the Council for Private Education (CPE) established a working platform with SAPE.

Jul 2012

It’s Official: The Registrar of Society (ROS) officially registered Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE).
